Blaine is the stereotypical computer geek/trekkie/science fiction fan.
He would fit right in on Big Bang Theory.
He is gruff and can get quite unruly, especially if you are an idiot and are not aware of it. So he portrays someone whose social skills might be lacking.
In his defense, he offends customers probably less then anyone.
But, you always wonder.

We were on a conference call with Jamie who is taking maternity leave in a couple of days.
This will be her first baby.
We were tying up loose things before she is gone for a long time.
We like Jamie, she is so easy to work with, and she takes a lot of flack from Doctors because of stuff we (I) do. We like that she doesn’t pass that flack on to us (me.)
So near the end of the conversation, Blaine says, “I hope your baby is born…..”

At that point Ken, who is also in the room, and I see a train wreck coming. We cannot imagine how this can end well. I want to yank the phone cord out of the wall.
I don’t know what Jamie was thinking.
And he ends with “I hope your baby is born naked.”
The relief and shock made it seem funnier then it should have been.
