THE WISDOM OF TAO

He who knows other men is discerning; he who knows himself is intelligent. He who overcomes others is strong; he who overcomes himself is mighty.

OK Clapton came. It was was cool to see him on stage, playing and singing and dancing. OK maybe not dancing. The blues doesn't lend itself to a whole lot of dance moves.

Honestly I have been to better Concerts, I know Clapton loves the blues, but I really wanted to hear more of the Rock n Roll. I had only heard of about half of the songs and I listen to a lot of Clapton. There was no 'I got a rock n roll heart', 'Holy Mother', 'Change the World', ' Tears in Heaven', 'I shot the Sheriff', 'Back Home', and others I had hoped he would play. He did do Layla of course, and Wonderful tonight and Running on Faith, and Cocaine in the encore along with Cross-roads. But I really would have preferred 'It's in the Way that you Use It' to some of the stuff he played.

And I paid to see Clapton play, I got tired of watching the other guitarists do multiple solos. I didn't know them before I got there and I still have no reason to want to get to know them. I wanted more, more, more of Clapton. It was good to be there but he didn't hold a candle to Sting or Mark Knopfler.
